Gold Star Mother

Thank you! I sent a letter (to Tony Sutton)  and am very upset at Hansen’s remarks.I will not support the party as long as he is in it.How UnAmerican can one get? I was at Walter Reed last month and I’d like to see this jackass say that to the Wounded Warriors I spoke to. Even with missing arms and legs, they would send this creep on his hands and knees begging forgiveness.Being a Marine Gold Star Mother I can tell you this creature will not gain admittance through the Heavenly Gates that are guarded by U.S. Marines!
Love, Muriel

Phd’s letter to Nathan Hansen

Nathan,

According to the below copy of an email I received recently from some RP and CFL veterans it seems you submitted the following to the St. Paul Newspaper.
I presume it was about Joe Repya.

If so, I think you’ve committed a grave and thoughtless error without checking all the facts about Joe and the reasons for his departure from the Party. Additionally by writing the piece as you did, you also subtly slammed other veterans including RP’ers and CFL’ers.

I myself am a highly decorated combat Vietnam Veteran, a Ron Paul advocate, lifelong contributing Member of the Ludwig von Mises Institute, an Objectivist, and a semi-retired Theoretical Physicist that does not often volunteer the fact of my reluctant military service. In fact I was drafted, pulled out of my University studies to face the involuntary specter of killing or be killed. Is this “blood lust?”

I have always been anti-war unless it was for defense of the USA.

I, and in fact any veteran, that has actually experienced the horror of war first hand, is anti-war. I as they, would never send our kids into an insane meat grinder for dubious purposes!

Joe Repya was one of the lone few that condemned the sham proceedings of the
2008 Republican State Conventions and the unpardonable treatment of Ron Paul and his followers. In particular the semi-criminal behavior by Ron Carey and his ilk in shoving though the bogus slate of candidates for the RNC convention. Joe also has appeared at CFL meetings in Burnsville and has gradually become attuned to the Liberty movement. His conversion to our side would be very beneficial.

However, by implication, in your posted piece, anyone that has served in the military, has children or relatives in the military, must be Neocon, RINO, war mongers, communists or members of the Military industrial complex. This is patently unfair, simplistic, and in many cases untrue. By doing so, you alienate many potential traditional MN Republicans, those that have children and relatives in the military, and veterans. It will NOT convince them to our side and it clearly is not a formula of success!

Yes, I and many veterans are anti-war. However, do not condemn the military and be grateful we have them to defend us. Condemn the policies of our politicians and their irresponsible squandering of our military resources on illegal, unconstitutional, immoral wars, world hegemony, and empire maintenance.

Military personnel are bound under oath to obey orders from their superiors and to the US Constitution and are under penalty of Court Martial. Our Politicians are also bound by oath to the defense of the Constitution and yet transgress against it at very opportunity with apparent impunity.

The one elected Republican that would better fit your label as a Neocon would be Rep. John Kline. Also a retired Coronel, war monger, former member of the armed services committee, and a voter for the Republican Tarp bill despite 50 to 1 phone calls and faxes to his office not to do so.

In summary, Nathan, I think you made a tremendous faux pas, a bunch of enemies, and I don’t know if you can somehow mitigate this to your benefit down the line. At the very least I think you should offer a personal apology to Joe or perhaps a retraction of sorts.

Please see a copy of the email I received below to understand why I’m writing this to you.
Your passions are certainly in the right place, but your condemnation was ill targeted to the wrong person. Uncorrected, it will no doubt come to haunt you in your future political activism.

Please fix this!

Open Forum: Minnesota vets to rally Oct. 3

Veterans from throughout Minnesota will be rallying outside the Minnesota Republican Party Convention on Oct. 3, 2009. The purpose of the rally is to bring attention to a derogatory online comment on the St. Paul Pioneer Press Web site about veterans, written by a State Republican Party officer.

The rally begins at 7 a.m. and continues until 12 noon. Signs and banners and flags will be provided. Bring your friends and wear your military colors. This is a nonpartisan rally by and for all veterans in the state of Minnesota. The rally will be held at the St. Paul RiverCentre, 175 W. Kellogg Blvd., St. Paul. Round up your veteran friends, fill your vehicle, and share the expense and help rally for all veterans, past, present and future.

This is a peaceful rally and permits from the city of St. Paul are in hand. For more information, phone Charlie at 651-778-0578 or 218-587-2975. See you there.

Has the Party left us or has those in leadership left the Party?

We are a party of principles…we cannot allow anyone in a leadership role in the Republican party to bash our Veterans or our current military.  We need to send a message to those who think they can get away with it that we will stand firm against those individuals and those refusing to remove them from a leadership role.
We love our Country.
We Honor the sacrifices of those providing our Freedom.
We hold precious that symbol of our Freedom, the Flag.
God, Family, Country that is the Republican Party I belong to.

Like Godfather Like Anti-war Son?

August 31st, 2009

Anyways, there is something worth taking a look at. The folks at Nathan Hansen Must go are feeling the typical heat in Minnesota Republican politics whenever you stand up to one of the favored step childs…. It appears that some Gubernatorial candidates may think Nathan Hansen and his anti veteran tyraids are perfectly suitable for senior Republican Party of Minnesota persons.

Before this site had anything but a hint of what it would be on it, Nathan Hansen had run to have legal papers served on the “owners” of the site.

Since that point we have been privileged to discover which gubernatorial candidates support our troops and which ones agree with Nathan Hansen.  If any of them would like to clarify their position they are more than welcome to do so. We promise to print what ever they wish us to say on the matter.

I’ve taken on Pawlenty, Coleman, and members of the Legislature and I too have had the powerbrokers come down on me and drive me out of the party, so I know what it is like, I am just amazed that this particular person, Nathan Hansen, is worth circling the wagons around. As of yet, I’ve never been sued; been smeared and slandered plenty by senior people in this party, but Hansen has yet to pull a Blois on me. Fingers crossed.

I have no clue which Republican Governor candidates the folks from Nathan Hansen Must Go are referring to, but it sure will be interesting to see if they are going to take on the “owners” of Nathan Hansen Must Go, especially because, they need people like them and me if they are going to win. Seems silly to me, but I guess loyalties cut party principles and standards

Let us first explain that this is not about war.

There was a time in American history, not too long ago, where soldiers, sailors and marines were lauded as heroes. For a portion of society, those times are long over. The last forty years have cumulated in controversial and polarizing debates about war and the United States’ role in international politics. This blog isn’t about any of the above. It has nothing to do with war, flag waving or false patriotism. This isn’t a Memorial Day  commemoration paying tribute to the brave men and women who served this nation.  It isn’t even about our servicemen and women, your drinking buddy that was forever changed by his time in harm’s way, your best friend or child that was lost defending freedom.  It isn’t about the time your served, the rank you achieved,  the wounds you suffered or the medals you were awarded.  Make no mistake, this blog is about Nathan Hansen and his indefensible, inexcusable claim that those who serve their country in the Armed Forces are “communists.”  This is also a blog about the Minnesota Republican Party consorting with Hansen, ultimately bestowing upon him the privilege of Chair to the Constitution Committee.  A most undeserving appointment!

We give honor and thanks to each of you that has served and may still be serving our country as well as every visitor to this site that has lost a loved one in service to our nation.  Your sacrifices preserve our way of life and restore our faith that there are still men and women selfless enough to put their country, ideals and value before their egos.

Again, this is about Nathan Hansen calling military men and women “communists.”  It is about the Minnesota Republican Party then naming him to chair one of its most important committees.  We feel this action is an act of collusion, and action that says the Minnesota Republican Party has turned their back on our nation’s military or is pathetically ill informed about what a loaded term “communist” is and the magnitude and implication of this insult.

The Left is very skillful at manipulating sentiments towards our Armed Forces and the work they do.  Now we are in the sad position where we must expose the fact that,  apparently, the MN Republican Party is currently in lock-step with demoralizing our brave men and women.  Nathan Hansen, your sentiments are disgraceful to the party and to America.  Dittos to those who endorse and support him.

This blog isn’t going to tell you what to think about Nathan Hansen or the Republican Party of Minnesota.  Their actions and Mr. Hansen’s words will speak for themselves and you can draw your own conclusions.
